Shoe care
To ensure that our shoes serve you well for a long time and look great, it is essential to give them the proper care.
Leather Shoes
Caring for leather shoes can be summarized in three main steps:
-
Cleaning: If the shoes have been previously treated with weatherproofing products, cleaning will be easier. Use a damp cloth or a soft sponge for smooth leather. Nubuck is best cleaned dry using special brushes or cleaning rubber. For both types of leather, it is recommended to use shoe cleaning products, just remember that nubuck is more absorbent and takes longer to dry.
-
Conditioning: To keep the leather supple, it is important to nourish it regularly. Choose a product suitable for the type of leather your shoes are made of and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
-
Weatherproofing : It´s recomended to use weatherproofing products before the first use and after cleaning. It can protect your shoes from moisture, and help repel dirt.
You can find a carefully curated collection of high-quality cleaning and care products in our eshop for both smooth and coarse leather.
Vegan Shoes (Microfiber)
Caring for vegan shoes is very simple. Clean them with a damp cloth; the material does not require additional nourishment. If you decide to weatherproof them, choose products designed for non-leather materials, such as these.
Textile Shoes
Clean the shoes with water and mild soap (be careful, bile soap and other strong soaps can discolor!), using a cloth or sponge for the upper part and a brush for the sole. It´s recomended to use weatherproofing products before the first use and after cleaning, you can find a selection on our eshop.
Other Important Rules for All Shoes
- Do not wash shoes in a washing machine and do not dry them in a dryer.
- Shoes should not be soaked. Dry them stuffed with crumpled paper, never in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- We recommend loosening the laces when putting on and taking off shoes; otherwise, the eyelets may tear or the shoes may get damaged over time. For zippered shoes, zip down to the sole to prevent damage to the zipper. Also, avoid stepping on the heel caps.
- Do not cream nubuck, and be careful when using a special brush or rubber.
And above all, enjoy your shoes!
We wish you many comfortable and healthy steps in our footwear!
