How to care for peerko shoes

In order for our shoes to serve and suit you for a long time, you need to take good care of them. We recommend treating your shoes with protective products before the first use.

Textile shoes...
...should be cleaned with water and gentle soap (beware that gull and other strong soaps can cause discoloration) or quality cleaning products meant for textiles. We use a soft sponge or cloth for the uppers, the sole can be cleaned with a brush.

Leather shoes...

...need  continual care that can be summarized in three points:

                                                                 

1. Cleaning - if the shoes have been treated, cleaning them will be easier. On smooth leather, use a damp clean cloth or a soft sponge and wipe the shoes. Nubuck leather should be cleaned when dry - plain nubuck with appropriate brushes or a special cleaning rubber, nubuck with foil with a cloth, e.g. microfiber cloth. It's possible to use cleaners on both types of leather as this can make cleaning easier. Remember, nubuck is more absorbent and it will take longer to dry.
2. Care - to keep the leather supple, you want to take care of it and moisturize it, (just like your skin) Find a product suitable for the type of leather shoes you have and just follow the instructions.
3. Weatherproofing - before the first use and after treatment it is suitable to use a sealing product. It can protect your shoes from moisture, and help repel dirt.

Here are few final tips:  :-)

Do not wash your shoes in the washing machine. Do not dry too close to heat sources. Brush or rub gently with care when using a brush or sponge. Avoid soaking.

When you need to dry your shoes, stuff them with crumpled paper and keep them out of direct sunlight and source of heat to dry safely and evenly.

If your shoes have removable inserts, take them out regularly to allow drying and to prevent mold. Using special drying shoe filters is also advisable.
